A Helpful Woman

By Natalia Román

Gladys, my grandmother, is the most helpful person I have ever met. She raised me since that I was born, so she is like my mum. Throughout all my life she has taught me how to be a helpful and polite woman. When I was a child, my grandmother and I used to go to “Hogar de Cristo” place where we helped to prepared food and did activities for poor people. After that we worked like a volunteers in a charity called “Cotolengo”, place where live people with health problems. In Cotolengo we took care of people with Down’s syndrome, mental problems and dwarf people. All these experiences have become me in a helpful woman thanks to my granny and her fortitude like a woman. She is an example that selfish people should follow to help people in need.
