To Quit or Not to Quit, That Is the Question

By Camila Carmona

Have you ever loved something but you had to stop doing it? Sometimes, deciding to quit is healthy, even if it hurts. When I was six years old I started practicing Rhythmic Gymnastics. I loved it and I was really good at it, actually. I used to practice around nine hours at week. It was very tiring, but I enjoyed it a lot. I practiced for seven years, and I won nine medals! It was one of the most beautiful periods of my life, but unfortunately I had to quit. I started having problems with my coach, and it wasn’t fun to practice anymore. She was always complaining about me and she started making me feel miserable. Apart from that I had no time for school. I was really tired and everything was falling apart. Consequently, I had to make a decision: keep practicing in awful conditions, or stop doing it. I decided to quit, because I knew it was the best for me. Keep doing something that is not making you feel good is not healthy and it can make you feel terrible! So if you love something, but is no longer making you happy, it is better to quit and find something else to do. There are always different posibilities.
